Treble-winner Teddy Sheringham has slammed Paul Pogba, claiming that Manchester United would be better off without him.

Over the last few years, many column inches have been devoted to Pogba's future at Old Trafford. Several times, the France international appeared to be on the point of leaving the club, only to regain his form and demonstrate his loyalty to the club. But, following a strong showing for Les Bleus at Euro 2020, his name has resurfaced as a potential United exit.

DON'T MISS:

Paris Saint-Germain, a Ligue 1 powerhouse, is rumored to be eager to sign him before the start of next season. His representatives have started talking to the French giants about a prospective transfer, according to reports earlier this week.

He's also been linked with Real Madrid, although his ties to PSG appear to be strong. One man who would not be sad to see the back of the ex-Juventus man is Sheringham.

The 55-year-old spent four seasons at the Theatre of Dreams and left with multiple trophies. He was part of the famous side that won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in 1998-1999.

In total, former England forward won three Premier League championships. He continues to be a keen watcher of all things United.

And the ex-Tottenham striker didn't hold back in his criticism of the con artist.

DON'T MISS:

He told The United Stand, "It's a funny scenario, isn't it?" “He has a year left and could go on a free trip and make himself a fortune – as if they don't already make enough money. If United or Ole got the impression that's what he was up to, I'm sure he'd want to sell him now for as much as he could.

“Whether that's the proper or wrong thing to do. He's played in midfield at times and been left out at others, but a good player doesn't get left out.”

Pogba's departure might signal the end of a contentious period.

Pogba returned to United for a second spell in August 2016. He was invited back because he had a lot of untapped talent and unfinished business at the club.

He has shown flashes of his talent for France, but never with enough consistency. And it could be best for everyone if he joined the Parisians.

Former United chief Jose Mourinho famously fell out with the 28-year-old and was vocal in his criticism. And Sheringham seems to be in agreement with the Portuguese.
