He is out to fight for place at Manchester United in blow to West Ham

Jesse Lingard's situation has been updated in a transfer report published by The Athletic, amid persistent interest from West Ham.

They claim that the 28-year-old is back at Manchester United's training camp and that David Moyes "wishes to bring Lingard to West Ham." Lingard, on the other hand, is reportedly valued at £30 million by the Red Devils.

Some at Old Trafford want to renegotiate the England international's contract in order to "guard his transfer worth." Lingard, according to the source, is "determined to stay at Old Trafford and battle for his place."

Why isn't Lingard joining West Ham?

This isn't looking good for the Hammers, who are hoping to bring the 28-year-old back to the London Stadium after a fantastic second half of the season [Sky Sports].

However, according to the newest reports, the offensive midfielder wants to continue at Manchester United, which appears to be an odd option.

Last season, he didn't receive much game time, and now that the Red Devils have added Jadon Sancho, how will he get any more?

Lingard appears to have used West Ham to re-enter the England team and possibly begin his Manchester United career, which is unfortunate.

There is still time for him to change his mind and realize that a move to the London Stadium is the best option, but it appears like he will remain at Old Trafford, which makes no sense to us.

Why wouldn't he want it again? He excelled under Moyes and was probably the star man while with the Hammers, so why wouldn't he want it again?

Hopefully, he decides to, but West Ham can't afford to wait much longer and should start exploring for other options.

In other West Ham news, three Premier League clubs are interested in signing one of their players.
