According to the Express, Jerome Boateng is interested in joining Manchester United. After his contract with Bayern Munich expired, the German defender is now a free agent. He is, however, rumored to be eyeing a 'dream move to Manchester United.
Manchester United hasn't had this much depth and skill in center defense in a long time. With the signing of Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire now has a capable teammate in the backline. When they become available, the tandem is expected to be the club's first choice.
Furthermore, with Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly, United has two equally capable defenders to cover for them in the event of an injury. Not to mention the fact that Phil Jones is due to return from a lengthy layoff. United, on the other hand, appears to be on the lookout for more central defenders.
DON'T MISS:
In the middle of this, veteran free agent Jerome Boateng has entered the fray. After leaving Bayern, the 32-year-old German is rumored to desire to join a Champions League club, with Old Trafford being his preferred destination. United's interest in the player, though, is unknown at this time.
Boateng's status as a free agent makes him an enticing option for United. There's also his trophy-winning expertise, but he's approaching 33 years old and not exactly immune to injuries. A short-term agreement could be beneficial to all parties involved.
