If the Premier League has its way, Leeds United will have fans at Old Trafford for the season opener against Manchester United.
Last season, the final two matchdays of the season had limited capacity, with no visiting spectators allowed from away clubs.
With the revelation that the first weekend of the season will feature a trip to arch-rivals Manchester United, Whites fans are even more eager to secure tickets.
Boris Johnson has stated that on July 19, around one month before the season begins, he expects to relax all restrictions from ordinary life.
It's unclear how stadiums and public gatherings would be affected, but the league has stated that starting with the first weekend, it will push for packed stadiums with away fans.
“The Premier League and its clubs are committed to the ambition of having full stadiums, including away fans, from the start of the season, and will continue to work closely with Government and all relevant authorities, ensuring operational plans are in place ready to safely welcome supporters back to stadiums in August,” according to a statement from the Premier League.
