Man Utd 'edge closer to his transfer agreement' after Dortmund back down

According to rumours, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are getting closer to agreeing on a transfer agreement for Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils have been looking for a right-winger for a long time, believing he is the ideal acquisition for their attack.

ON'T MISS:

Sancho was a target for United last summer, but the story dragged on into October due to Ed Woodward's unwillingness to accept Dortmund's demands.

Dortmund made it plain throughout the process that they would only accept a £108 million offer.

Only one bid was filed, at £90 million, falling £18 million short of its valuation.

However, things have changed in the last eight months, and Dortmund is now seeking £80 million, according to The Times (plus add-ons).

ON'T MISS:

According to the report, United are closing in on a deal for Sancho, who is still one of their top targets.

After playing hardball with United last summer, Dortmund has eased their stance on the player.

Sancho has already accepted personal terms with United and is eager to join the club.

He would be able to return to Manchester, where he was a member of City's youth system before joining Dortmund.

He's also close with Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, which could help with the move.

The European Championships, though, are expected to put a stop to any potential trade, with Gareth Southgate requesting that his players put all transfer talks on hold.

He doesn't want any sagas to derail his Three Lions' preparations for the competition.

United, on the other hand, has been working behind the scenes to reach an agreement with Dortmund on a fee.

The club is hoping to agree on a sum that will allow Sancho to complete his move after the Euros.

However, he is not their sole objective, as a centre-back is also high on their priority list.

The names Raphael Varane, Jules Kounde, and Pau Torres are being considered.

After United agreed to a deal with Aston Villa, goalkeeper Tom Heaton is set to get a physical before returning to United.
