Man Utd ‘agree terms’ with Sancho, Solskjaer drops striker hint and Niguez update

Manchester United's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has received a significant boost.

The Red Devils attempted to sign Sancho during the summer transfer window, but their £91.3 million bid was reportedly rejected.

However, a move to Old Trafford may now be on the cards, with reports claiming the 21-year-old has agreed to terms on a contract.

That will be good news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who revealed in an interview with TV2 that he is looking for a new striker.

Both of these stories, as well as an update on Saul Niguez's future, are covered in our Daily Star Sport transfer round-up.

If United wants to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, they will face stiff competition.

According to AS, Chelsea has joined the list of clubs interested in signing the Spanish star this summer.

Niguez's contract includes a buyout clause of around £60 million, and he is free to leave the Wanda Metropolitano if an offer comes in.

“If Saul wants to leave Atletico, there are no problems as long as the move is beneficial to all parties,” said Atletico director-general Miguel Angel Gil.

On TV2, Solskjaer was praising Edinson Cavani when he dropped a huge hint about the striker situation at Old Trafford.

“When he (Ca

vani) gets this experience and a run-up, despite his age, he will be better than this year,” he said.

“I am delighted that it has occurred, but this does not mean that we are not looking for someone to challenge or learn from him.”

United's pursuit of Dortmund star Sancho has lasted longer than we care to remember – but an end may be in sight.

According to Sport1, the winger has "basically agreed on the terms of the contract" with the Red Devils.

If that turns out to be the case, it will be up to United and Dortmund to agree on a fee for the England international.
