Luke Shaw managing wrist injury, has damaged tendons

Luke Shaw was a standout performance for Manchester United during the 2020/21 season. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Englishman made the most progress, earning a place in Gareth Southgate's England camp.

When Shaw was left out of England's starting eleven for their match against Croatia, there were a lot of puzzled expressions on people's faces, but now we may know why...

DON'T MISS:

United's left-back is suffering from an injury, according to the Manchester Evening News. According to reports, the ex-Southampton player has tendon damage in his wrist, which he is currently ‘managing' at EURO 2020.

It is alleged that the condition, which he has had since June 3rd, did not prevent him from playing against Croatia - though surely it would have made Southgate think about it?

Instead, despite being a natural right-sided defender, United-linked Kieran Trippier would start at left-back.

Shaw will undoubtedly be itching to get back into the team ahead of England's match against Scotland on Friday.

DON'T MISS:

personally, I believe it is a disgrace that Shaw was not chosen if he is truly 100 percent. Over the last season, he has been the greatest left-back in the country, and leaving him out feels like a huge mistake.

Trippier had a good game against Croatia, but there were so many moments where a left-footer could have whipped the ball into the area. Instead, Trippier had to turn back to his right, which meant the opportunity had passed him by.

I just hope Shaw, despite his wrist injury, gets the start against Scotland. He is certainly deserving of such a chance.
