The club's talk leading up to his debut this season was about the academy graduate. Solskjaer kept the youngster in the loop by allowing him to practice with the first team. He was also frequently called up to games when he sat on the bench.

Manchester United vs. Newcastle United - Old Trafford – Premier League Marcus Rashford of Manchester United is replaced by Shola Shoretire during a Premier League match at Old Trafford in Manchester. The film will be released on February 21, 2021.

The baby-faced striker eventually made his debut against Newcastle, but he didn't get much of a chance to impress. He made history against Real Sociedad a few days later. He became the youngest player in United history to make his debut in European competition at the age of 17 years and 23 days. He shattered Norman Whiteside's record, which he had held since 1982.

Shoretire looks up to Mata as a role model.

Shoretire looks up to a veteran teammate. Juan Mata has served as a mentor to him, and he has studied the playmaker's techniques.

“So you have to be extremely technical, I believe, and Juan Mata is someone I look up to. He's not the biggest or strongest player I've ever seen or played with, but he's certainly one of the smartest. He's always one step ahead of the game. I have a lot of respect for him.”

Mata, for his part, has heaped admiration on his younger colleague.

“Keep up the good work, Shola; it's a pleasure to watch you play!”

This season, the kid has already made three first-team outings. If he continues to improve in the same manner, he will most likely be given additional opportunities.
