Jose Mourinho Takes Aim At Luke Shaw Yet Again With 'Dramatically Bad' Analysis

During England's 1-0 triumph against the Czech Republic at Euro 2020, Jose Mourinho slammed Luke Shaw's 'dramatically poor' corners.

On Tuesday evening, Shaw played the entire 90 minutes as England won Group D and qualified for the knockout stages.

DON'T MISS:

Shaw and Mourinho had a tense relationship during Mourinho's two-and-a-half seasons as Shaw's manager at Manchester United.

Despite being impressed with the Three Lions' overall performance, Mourinho was critical of their set-piece performance.

"The bad thing I would say is that they were really terrible on attacking corners once again," he told talkSPORT through TEAMtalk.

"The service was very poor. They have a lot of good players who can attack the corners. The crosses aren't getting through to the first man.

DON'T MISS:

"Luke Shaw was pretty good tonight, but extremely awful on the corner, in my opinion." The same goes for [Kalvin] Phillips.

"England has a lot of strength at this level, and when it comes to knockout games, one corner can make or break a game."

With players like Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson expected to return to full fitness, Mourinho believes England is in a strong position.

"I always say that if you have a choice of 26 players, you should take a chance and choose an injured player if the guy deserves it." Mourinho continued, "Maguire is one of those players."

"He was confident, he was stable, he was bright, he read the game well, and he worked well with [John] Stones."

"[Tyrone] Mings is doing an excellent job; you could tell he was delighted to come in for 10 or 15 minutes, and he is a team player."

"Given how Germany plays with three at the back, I wouldn't be surprised if England played with Stones, Maguire, and Mings at the back."

Although Gareth Southgate's team qualified without surrendering a goal in three games, some fans are concerned about the lack of attacking threat.

Mourinho has responded by praising their very good' mentality in the dressing room.

"It appears to be in good shape, the players are in good form, and [Jadon] Sancho was prepared for every second he was on the field." "The mentality is excellent on the inside," the 58-year-old remarked.

"They aired two distinct versions today." Great attacking mobility and ingenuity. They were a positional squad in the second half, with excellent positional play and control, which is crucial in the knockout stage.

People are not overjoyed since they are always clamoring for more and more types of football, but they will be delighted within the camp. They'll believe they did a good job and are prepared.

"The next game will be the most important because it will be against a top team. Yes, Wembley will give them an advantage, but they will also be under pressure because they will be against a formidable opponent.

"If they go to the quarterfinals, this match could be the game that decides their fate."
