Eduardo Camavinga's transfer comments as Manchester United push to secure signing

With the summer transfer market being open, Manchester United is interested in signing Eduardo Camavinga.

Eduardo Camavinga of Rennes is a target for Manchester United. With the Red Devils looking to strengthen their squad this summer, the France international has been identified as a possible recruit. With that in mind, it's time to consider the player's statements about a possible exit - as well as those of his agent, Jonathan Barnett.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are being lauded.

When it comes to recruiting Camavinga, it has been suggested that United will face competition from PSG.

However, the player has publicly praised Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, praising both clubs as recently as last month.

“What does the future hold for me?” He said, "I haven't discussed it with my family yet."

“I'm concentrating on Rennes first. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich interest is something nice, I can’t lie.

“It's nice that big clubs have interest, but I'm not focused on that."

Great clubs make me fantasize.'

Camavinga revealed in November that the large clubs "made him dream" and that he had not set a deadline for deciding his future.

“The great clubs make me dream,” said the 18-year-old, who has been compared to Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso due to his slick style of play.

“But I cannot name one in particular for my future.

“We haven’t set a date to discuss my future, I’m in no rush about it.”

Camavinga has just a year of his Rennes contract left and the Ligue 1 side won’t want to lose him for nothing next year.

Camavinga hailed by Barnett

Camavinga’s agent, Barnett, recently name dropped the France international when talking about the players at his agency who could leave.

"It is going to be harder. I'm expecting three or four very big deals of my own that will break a lot of records," Barnett told the Athletic.

"Hopefully, they'll come about. For the smaller clubs, I think there won't be as many transfers. We have some very good players.

"We have probably the best young player in the world in Camavinga.

“We've got [Jack] Grealish. We've got [Ibrahima] Konate at Leipzig. But then I've got over 100 players."

Barnett expects mass interest

In February, Barnett said his client would be in demand - while also talking up Real Madrid as a potential destination.

"At the moment, he's a Rennes player," Barnett exclusively told Goal. "He likes Rennes and, at the moment, we haven´t really taken to other clubs. It isn’t our position.

"Let’s see what happens later on, but he’s doing well in Rennes and that’s fine. Being the best midfielder in the world, that’s how I see his future, [with] a lot of medals and a lot of trophies.

"[Madrid are] a great club, a great club to play for.

"Eduardo will have a choice of a lot of clubs if Rennes decides to release him. They will be one of the four of five clubs in the world he might go to.

"Eduardo would love to play for a top club. Madrid are one of those top clubs in the world, so are Barcelona."

Solskjaer’s transfer comments

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said at the end of the season he wanted ‘two or three’ fresh faces.

“We're planning as we normally do,” he said,

“It's not like end of season and let's see what we do, that's an ongoing process.

“We are looking at the squad, the players who are going to stay, those who might be leaving and I hope that we're going to strengthen with a few… two or three players that we definitely need to challenge higher up in the table.

“We're still too far behind to think it is just going to come by itself.”
