Manchester United appear set to beat Chelsea to the signing of Borussia Dortmund playmaker Jadon Sancho this summer, with the England winger preferring a move to Old Trafford over a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old was keen to leave the Bundesliga giants last summer, but United balked at Dortmund's £108 million asking price, and Sancho went on to have another successful season in Germany.
Dortmund has since reduced their valuation of Sancho to around £80 million, and both Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in signing the former Manchester City wide man.
After guiding the Blues to Champions League success, Thomas Tuchel is expected to be given around £200 million to spend this summer, and the German has a good relationship with Dortmund following his time in charge of the Bundesliga club.
According to the Athletic, Sancho prefers a move to United over a move to Chelsea and has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.
Sancho's form suffered at the start of this season as the Englishman struggled to deal with the disappointment of his move to Manchester United falling through, but he's determined to realize his dream this time around.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to spend more than half of his £150 million budget on Sancho, and the club is said to have already agreed on personal terms with the playmaker.
When and if Sancho arrives, the Norwegian wants to add a centre-back and a new central midfielder to his squad.
Tuchel is also looking for a new centre-back and a midfielder, but he is also looking for a new right-back and a proven striker in the attack.
