United finally got the massage they have waited 14 months to hear

Manchester United fans will be allowed to attend Premier League tie vs Fulham

After more than a year of silence, fans will be welcomed back into Old Trafford for Tuesday's Premier League match against Fulham.

United's performance in a venue devoid of fans has been mediocre. What was once regarded as 'Fortress Old Trafford' has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side's Achilles heel, notwithstanding their excellent away record.

 DON'T MISS:

If they win or draw their final game against Wolves, they would have gone the whole Premier League season unbeaten on the field, despite losing six times in the same competition at home.

The lack of fans is almost definitely a major factor, so the news that 10,000 fans will be able to attend Tuesday's game, amid recent demonstrations, is much appreciated.

The decision to allow 10,000 fans into the stadium for Tuesday's game against Fulham was checked on Friday after anti-Glazer protests, according to The Mail.

‘What had been regarded as a formality after the Government's move to relax lockout controls was called into question by Thursday's rally prior to Liverpool's loss.

‘However, after immediate discussions between United and their safety advisory committee, which included Trafford Borough Council, local police, and emergency services, a safety certificate for the Fulham game was finally released late in the day.

DON'T MISS:

‘United will finally invite supporters to Old Trafford for the first time in over 14 months, dating back to the Manchester derby in March of last year.

‘It could provide targets for troublemakers, and there are concerns that demonstrators could infiltrate match-goers to create much further chaos.

United are assured that they can realize who is going to Old Trafford, with supporters applying for tickets using a ballot mechanism and subjecting themselves to stringent identification checks at the stadium.'

With Fulham already relegated and United already assured of Champions League play, the outcome of Tuesday's game is irrelevant.

However, having the fans sing their names again could provide a welcome morale boost for Solskjaer's men as they brace for the Europa League final against Villareal on May 26th.
