Sir Alex Ferguson gives verdict on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United manager

Manchester United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Marcus Rashford have earned Sir Alex Ferguson's admiration.

United have not won the Premier League since Ferguson's last season in charge in 2013, and many coaches have failed to bring the squad back on track since his exit.

DON'T MISS:

Ferguson, on the other side, claims Solskjaer is doing a fine job in the Old Trafford hot seat and has praised his former player for offering talented players chances.

Ferguson told the BBC, "And as a young backup, even though he was on the bench... he would take notes on the training sessions."

"He had a desire to be a manager, and at a club like Manchester United, it's a consequence business, without a doubt."

There are questions to be answered if you don't receive data. He is seeing success, and he has performed exceptionally well. And what's very critical for this club is introducing new talent, and he's given them a shot.

DON'T MISS:

"From Matt Busby and Alex Ferguson to what Ole is doing, the young guys, whether they are nice enough, play them, it will still be the core of Manchester United." There's never a concern at this club."

Rashford has often received acclaim from the iconic boss, but this time for his behaviour off the field rather than on it.

The forward also led the way in ensuring free school meals for children in England over the school holidays and has directly resulted in improvements to government policy.

"When he said what he did, I immediately called him," Ferguson said. "And I figured what he was doing was a good example for a young individual to set for the rest of them in this business, where most of the top players are doing extremely well."

"I was so proud of Rashford for doing what he did, particularly for a young person." I believe everybody was, and he hasn't gotten too carried away by himself. He's always striving to do a good job as you'd predict from him."
