Manchester United transfer news: Time-frame to sign Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho

Manchester United want to sign Jadon Sancho before the start of the Euros next month, according to Bild.

What is the most recent Jadon Sancho news?

According to Bild, Manchester United is hoping to sign Sancho before the launch of the Euros in less than a month.

DON"T MISS:

According to the German outlet, the Red Devils are eager to begin talks and plan to settle on a fee of about €90 million (£77.4 million).

When do the Euros begin, and how could this play a role?

The Euro 2020 market begins on June 11th, and Manchester United hopes to get a contract in place by then, giving them exactly 30 days.

United are presumably keen to finalize the agreement before the tournament to avoid some performance-based market inflation, which might lift the future charge, or Sancho doing so well that competing suitors appear.

DON"T MISS:

If a signing is done before the Euros, Dortmund will have more flexibility to search for a substitute rather than desperation purchasing towards the close of the window.

How would Dortmund respond to this?

An early offer of just under €100 million seems to be in line with what Dortmund is looking for this summer.

As previously reported on GIVEMESPORT, Dortmund are willing to sell the England international for about that price, according to Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast.

"This year is different since Borussia Dortmund would ask for less than €120m. [Likely] less than €100m. It will be like €85m/€90m/€95m," Romano stated.

He also mentioned that time is of the essence for Dortmund.

"The timing of the transaction would be critical," he said. "They would not be available to negotiating for Sancho in late August in the last week, but only at the start of the transfer market in June or July."

According to the Athletic, Sancho has a "gentleman's deal" with Dortmund, and his departure from the Bundesliga seems to be a matter of when rather than if.

Why does Manchester United want to sign Sancho?

According to 90min, United are confident that Sancho, along with holding Edinson Cavani, is a key part of their plans for next season.

Since signing as a free agent last year, the Uruguayan's deal was renewed, and he will now be at the club until at least the 2021/22 season.

According to 90min, Sancho is the club's first choice, and they are eager to occupy the right-wing role, which has been an issue for some time.

The fans of Manchester United will be hoping that the signing of Sancho is enough to launch a legitimate title challenge to rival Manchester City in the 2021/22 Premier League season.
