According to reports, Manchester United are willing to use David De Gea as part of their bid to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

The Slovenia international is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has been instrumental in Atletico Madrid's success since his arrival in Spain in 2014.

Meanwhile, United are dealing with a difficult goalkeeping situation, with Dean Henderson vying for De Gea's place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad.

However, Henderson has also failed to impress when he has deputised for De Gea this season, and according to The Sun, United are planning a summer bid for Oblak.

According to the report, Solskjaer's "closest advisers" have been urging the United manager to sign Oblak from Atletico Madrid.

And it's been reported that United are willing to include De Gea in their deal to sign Oblak, who is worth £70 million.

De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 for a fee of £18.9 million.

And during his time at Old Trafford, the Spaniard has helped the club win the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Europa League.

De Gea has also been named United's Player of the Year four times, more than any other player in the club's history.

However, a slump in form over the last 18 months has put Solskjaer under pressure to reconsider who will be his first-choice goalkeeper.

De Gea started ahead of Henderson in United's Europa League final against Villarreal on Wednesday night, but he missed the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shootout, handing the trophy to Villarreal.

Sir Alex Ferguson consoled De Gea as he exited the pitch after the final whistle.
