Manchester United ‘hottest candidate’ for signing – Deal could be done quickly for €95m flat fee

Manchester United ‘hottest candidate’ for signing – Deal could be done quickly for €95m flat fee

If one believes that Borussia Dortmund sends transfer messages through the German sports media, it is clear that the club is getting nervous about Jadon Sancho, and possibly a lack of approaches for him.

There were several reports in Germany not long ago that Manchester United wanted to finalize a deal before Euro 2020. Fans' expectations were obviously raised as a result, and the story gained prominence in the English media.

DON'T MISS:

Prior to that, the focus had primarily been on BVB, with talk of massive losses in the previous year and Sancho's price dropping to as low as €80 million.

When that poking with a stick didn't seem to work, the claims of competition began, with Liverpool and Chelsea once again being mentioned.

The theme for the past week has also been raising Sancho's price.

On May 23rd, Ruhr Nachrichten speculated that a transfer would be unlikely before Euro 2020, and they exaggerated the player's value. It was stated that a deal could be completed for ‘not far below €100 million' and that ‘patience' was required.

DON'T MISS:

On May 24th, Bild reported that Manchester United had been "warned" about reported Liverpool and Chelsea interest.

They went on to say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team faced transfer 'embarrassment' last summer when they failed to sign Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford, and they don't want the same thing to happen this time.

Sancho's asking price was set between €90 million and €100 million, which was portrayed as a good deal because the player's value could "explode" in the Euros.

This week's SportBild covers 'Poker,' with the headline: 'With a fee of 95 million, Sancho can leave!'

The England international has been "promised" that he can leave, and Dortmund's "pain threshold" is €95 million, which would have to be "guaranteed."

SportBild then cites Transfermarkt's valuation of €100 million as proof that €95 million is reasonable, but what that website says has no bearing on this transaction.

Sancho is said to want to know his future before Euro 2020, putting even more pressure on Manchester United. However, the article appears to cast doubt on that possibility in several places.

Nonetheless, SportBild concludes, 'If Manchester is willing to accept BVB's demands, the Sancho Poker could be decided before the start of the European Championship.' If not, the trade risks becoming a hangover – and may even result in a stay. Because: BVB is under no obligation to sell. Sancho's contract will expire in 2023.'

If this isn't the German media reporting exactly what Borussia Dortmund has told them to, it's doing a good job of impersonating it.
