According to sources, Manchester United want to sign Jadon Sancho because they believe Mason Greenwood would end up being their substitute for Edinson Cavani.
The Red Devils have long been interested in the Borussia Dortmund star. And a blockbuster deal may take place during this summer's transfer window.
DON'T MISS:
Manchester United, not for the first time, is preparing to try Sancho once more.
As it became apparent that the Borussia Dortmund hero was preparing to abandon Manchester City four years ago, they set out to sign him.
But it didn't happen, since Sancho chose to take a gamble by going abroad instead.
The Red Devils attempted to sign the 21-year-old in 2019 and 2020 but were unsuccessful both times.
And now, having signed Cavani to a new deal at Old Trafford, they're preparing to take another shot at the England star.
DON'T MISS:
United have rekindled their trust in the young forward, who has 14 goals and 18 assists this season across all competitions.
According to the Mirror, they want Sancho because they believe Greenwood would end up replacing Cavani in the centre of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's strike.
This season, the Uruguay international has scored 15 goals in all competitions, eventually establishing himself in English football.
When he signed, there were fears that he'd be another Alexis Sanchez, Radamel Falcao, or Angel Di Maria, three South American players who struggled at the team.
Cavani, on the other hand, has laid those questions to rest by scoring eight goals in his last ten games.
