Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United has publicly expressed his desire to reunite with Piotr Zieliski in the future.
After five years at Udinese, Zieliski joined the Naples club in 2016. Fernandes joined them a year after the Polish international arrived in Udine and spent three seasons with the Pozzo family-owned club.
Although the two players shared a dressing room, they couldn't spend much time together on the field because Zieliski was struggling to get minutes at Udinese.
The Portugal international praised the Napoli midfielder in an interview with Poland's Canal Plus Sport.
“Technically, I believe Zieliski is better trained than I am. We were given a good challenge. Zieliski used to be a bit shy, in my opinion. He was very young at the time, just like me,” Fernandes explained.
DON'T MISS:
“However, we came from different countries and had different mindsets, so it was different for both of us. I have a great friendship with Piotr. He's a great guy, and I really like him. He is one of the people I met in Italy with whom I maintain constant contact.
“I talked to him a few months ago and told him I wanted to play with him again. So who knows what the future holds in store for us. He's a really, really good player in my opinion.”
Even though Fernandes stated that he wants to reunite with Zieliski, he did not state categorically that he wants to play with him at Manchester United, though that is clearly the assumption.
