Liverpool's stars paid a heartfelt homage to the nine-year-old child who died after being hit by lightning this week.

Jordan Banks, of Blackpool, died on Tuesday evening after being critically hurt on a football field shortly after 5 p.m.

When warming up for their match against Manchester United on Thursday, the players all wear shirts with the words "Jordan 7" on them.

“You'll Never Walk Alone, Jordan Banks,” read one Liverpool tweet.


Jordan, dubbed a "mini-Milner" by his mentors, was a talented guy as well as a passionate footballer. Tonight, we're all thinking of his loved ones.”

Jordan's family said in a statement issued by Lancashire Police, "Yesterday our worlds ended."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made 10 improvements for Manchester United's rescheduled Premier League match against Liverpool.


After making 10 changes for Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Leicester, the Norwegian made the same amount of changes on Thursday evening, with Eric Bailly the only one to keep his spot.


Liverpool's only move at Old Trafford was the substitution of Roberto Firmino for Sadio Mane.
