Jesse Lingard's hint over Man Utd future makes transfer plans clearer

Jesse Lingard has hinted that a permanent move to West Ham might not happen this summer.

The Manchester United-signed midfielder has been in arguably his best form of his career at the London Stadium in recent months.

Lingard has gone on to score nine goals and set up four more, sparking speculation about a permanent move to the East End.

However, the 28-year-old admitted that he would be "taking away" the memories he made at West Ham, possibly implying that he will not be a Hammer for much longer.

When asked if he will remember his time at West Ham positively, Lingard told the club's official website, "Yes, 100 percent."

DON'T MISS:

"It's been great; I've met a lot of new people and made a lot of friends, so taking on this challenge has been amazing, and the memories will be special."

"Obviously, playing week in and week out, the lads have been brilliant, the staff have been brilliant, and they've put faith in me to play and do well."

"I was already ready to play for many months, so playing the first game at Villa seems like a lifetime ago now that we're nearing the end of the season, but it's been a fantastic experience and I'll take so many memories away with me."

"It's just about consistency and performing at a high-level week in, week out," he said, "which I've been trying to do and which I've been doing over these past few months, and hopefully now it's a big push towards the end of the season."

West Ham can still secure a place in Europe with a win over Southampton on Sunday, as their current sixth-place finish is enough to guarantee them a spot in the Europa League.
