Bruno Fernandes needs Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba to remain at Manchester United after this season.
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, all three players have developed a destructive assault, which proved its value once again in the 6-2 thrashing of Roma.
DON'T MISS:
They netted five of United's six goals at Old Trafford, putting the Red Devils in charge of their Europa League semi-final.
However, rumors have it that the trio could be breaking up before the start of the 2021/22 season.
Cavani has been strongly associated with Argentine club Boca Juniors, although Pogba is rumored to want to return to Juventus.
When asked about the pair, Fernandes told reporters, "Of course, as we previously said, they are extremely significant to us."
DON'T MISS:
“The characteristics they possess are rare to locate on the market at a reasonable price. I believe everybody recognizes that the team is maturing and that it is doing so with their assistance. It is important for us to retain our top talent and continue to improve as a team.”
On Thursday evening, United will fly to Roma for the second leg of their European tie.
Fernandes, Cavani, and Pogba would all be aiming to be among the targets to keep their season on track.
Cavani, in particular, has excelled in recent weeks. He is assisting Solskjaer's men in making themselves seem more threatening in attack.
The Uruguayan international, who joined the club on a free transfer last year, has scored eight goals in his last five games.
Solskjaer recently praised the striker, adding, "He's had his couple of setbacks and now he's worked very hard to get back healthy and he displays his qualities."
“He is certain of my emotions. He is aware that I will welcome him back for another year.
“We also discussed it. I appreciate how tough this year has been, but I've told him that Old Trafford and Manchester will be a new place with our supporters in the stadium.
“He has to work to have the impression in order to stay by our side. Manchester is an excellent location to visit.
“I'm trying my bit, but let's see what happens.” Of course, evenings like this, maybe we can make it to the final and he can see himself staying for another year.”
