After Manchester United's surprising title bid comes to an end, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to unleash Hannibal Mejbri and Anthony Elanga in Sunday's goalless draw with Leeds.
Solskjaer has stated that he would not give up on United's hopes of winning the Premier League until it is mathematically unlikely - a situation that was made closer by Sunday's goalless draw with Leeds.
The Elland Road deadlock left Manchester United 10 points behind Manchester City with 15 games remaining, ensuring Pep Guardiola's side only needs six more to win a third title in four seasons.
The city will be crowned champions if they win at Crystal Palace on Saturday and Liverpool does them a favor by beating Solskjaer's side the next day.
The upside of that for United fans will be that they would see promising prospects Mejbri and Elanga making their first-team bows.
They will be joining Amad and Shola Shoretire in breaking into Solskjaer's first-team plans while the Red Devils prepare the future of the club where he gained cult status as a player.
Mejbri and Elanga have impressed the United manager this season and were set to make their senior debuts earlier in the season before suffering injuries.
They have, though, begin practicing with the first team in recent weeks.
Mejbri, a France Under-17 international, was due to join the first team in February before sustaining an arm injury.
The 18-year-old, who joined United from Monaco in the summer of 2019, can play in midfield or out wide and signed a new long-term contract in March.
Solskjaer recently told United's official website about Mejbri: "He was unfortunate to get hurt when he was going to come up [to train] with us."
“Now that he's recovered from his injury, he's joined in, and he's done good, the boy.”
Elanga, 18, was sidelined in January after sustaining a collarbone injury.
The Sweden Under-17 international has been with the club since he was 12 years old and can play anywhere on the front line.
He, like Mejbri, signed a new long-term deal in March and began training with the first team at the start of this month.
"I've got confidence in the young lads, of course, and in Anthony, we have a player with good talents, a fantastic personality, and he scores goals from either the right or left, and he's got good pace," Solskjaer said of Elanga.
