In January Manchester United was on top of the table and fans had many expectations that they will win this season's trophy.

Currently, they are in the second position 14 points behind their Noisy Neighbors Manchester City. It is clear that Manchester City will win the Premier League this season.

Defensive errors are the reason why United is a distant second in the EPL standing.

The majority of United fans have been blaming their skipper Harry Maguire for defensive blunders that have cost them. Shaw and Wan-Bissaka have played very well in their full-back positions.

The weak link in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's defense has been a result of a weak Central Defense.

But this problem could go away this summer, as the Reds are determined to splash money in the transfer market and sign a top-rated defender. According to Eurosport, both Manchester United and Liverpool are showing significant interest in RB Leipzig center- back Ibrahima Konate.

Despite Injuries, the 21-year-old defender has proved to be a world-class defender and that is why he has attracted interest from two big clubs in the world.

Manchester United last summer was interested in Dayot Upamecano but the top defender is headed to Bayern Munich this summer.

Konate will find himself in the middle of a historical rivalry between Liverpool and United. But United has vowed to sign him in any way possible including using financial muscles. He will be the best central back that will help united from slipping again.

This is good news for Manchester United fans and now they expected World-class signings when the summer transfer window is opened. As a United fan, who will you suggest that Ed Woodward sign during the summer transfer?
