Europa league: The giant killers that could surprise and end United's Europa league dreams

High-flying English giants in the Europa League, Manchester United would be locking horns with first-timers of the competition Granada.

United who is the favorite to win this tie and possibly the competition is currently enjoying good form.

DON'T MISS:

They currently occupy the second position in the league in the premier league and are almost sure of playing In the champions league next season.

They are still unbeaten in the Europa League since joining from Champions league where they defeated strong competitors like Real Sociedad and AC Milan.

This competition remains the only available for United to compete for a trophy and for Solkjaer to put his name among United trophy-winning managers.

DON'T MISS:

Recall that since he joined United, he has not won any trophy making this a very good opportunity for him and his boys to grab.

The last time they were in this competition, they lost to another Spanish opposition, Sevilla who eventually won the competition. Care must therefore be taken as they meet another Spanish opposition who is always good with the ball.

The team will be counting on the form and abilities of their key players to play in this encounter. High-flying Bruno Fernandes, Pogba, and Rashford who form the backbone of the team in the attack won't be forgiven if United fails to win this encounter while Maguire and co would be expected to deal with any threat at goal.

Granada who is playing in their first major European competition need not be taken for granted. So far they have pulled out surprises by edging out Molde and Italian giants Napoli.

The teamwork and belief coupled with the presence of experienced players like Soldado has been driving them forward in this competition. This team will come out to play the game of their lifetime. United would therefore expect a very stiff opposition and a fight to the end.

On what united would be expecting from his team in this encounter, Granada coach, Diego Martínez described this match as a mismatch between a giant and a small team,, but promised they would continue to motivate themselves as they have been doing and with a bit of luck the result can come their way.

He continued by saying that to reach this stage of the competition is a big statement by the clubs desire to compete for the trophy and this they will do to the final whistle.
