According to Forbes, McGregor is the highest-paid athlete in the sport and the 16th highest-paid athlete in the world in 2020. He made the comment on Twitter when Manchester United's share price plunged after reports of the European Super League's alleged implosion.
Manchester City, United's cross-town counterpart, reportedly exited the European Super League on Tuesday night, with Premier League rival Chelsea due to the following suit.
Meanwhile, La Liga club Atletico Madrid has announced their intention to leave the competition, which has been heavily criticized.

That was quickly accompanied by the announcement that United's executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, would step down at the end of the year.
It prompted McGregor to take to Twitter, where he tweeted to his 8.6 million followers, "Hello everybody, I'm dreaming about purchasing Manchester United!
What are your thoughts?"
He was greeted with a barrage of comments, with one fan requesting that he instead purchase fellow ESL hopeful Tottenham Hotspur, while another said that if he followed ahead with the purchase, he would "brush my teeth with your whisky every morning."
McGregor is scheduled to return to action on July 10 in Las Vegas at UFC 264.
The event will be held in front of a sold-out audience, with all 20,800 tickets for his blockbuster trilogy battle with rival Dustin Poirier selling out in seconds.
Poirier knocked out McGregor in the second round at UFC 257 in January, handing the Irishman his first TKO loss in the UFC and tying the score between the two since McGregor knocked out the Louisiana native at UFC 178 in 2014.
The pair will now clash again in a massive trilogy battle, with the winner receiving a shot at the undisputed UFC lightweight championship.
