What Paul Schole said about Man United coach Solskjaer after Arsenal defeat.

"It was a negative move" - Paul Scholes baffled Man United coach Solskjaer's decision against Arsenal

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes talks badly of Solskjaer decision to introduce Nemanja Matic

Manchester United was well below-par in a bad first half and the Red Devils were lucky to enter the break without conceiving any goal.

Man United improved slightly after the beginning of the second half but the Gunnars kept their strength running throughout the game and Solskjaer decided to remove Fred - who was given a yellow card - to be replaced by Matic.

Arsenal found the opportunity to open Manchester United net just six minutes later and the Serbian was left to build-up play in the dying minutes of the game as the Gunners fire back on their lead.

Manchester United legend and football analyst Paul Scholes believes Solskjaer's decision Matic on the pitch shows a clear lack of ambition on the part of Man Utd coach, claiming that it was a "negative move" from the Norwegian.

"I thought the move was negative," Scholes told Premier League Production. "Nemanja Matic is like for like. He did okay when he came on the pitch but he will always just do okay. He is not a forward-thinking player. why "you are playing at home at Old Trafford.

If there is a crowd, then there maybe it's different and he needs to go for it but if you change a midfielder you think it will be another attacking player coming on the pitch.

"Whether it is Van de Beek to push him on with the former Bruno Fernandes or to drop Paul Pogba back in but it was just like for like.

"I do not think it will make any difference to the team and it didn't"

The defeat means that Manchester United has just seven points from their first matches and the pressure will be high on the coach Solskjaer.

While the Red Devils have only two wins in the Champions League, they are without a win in their opening four home games in the Premier League campaign.

Manchester United will be traveling to Goodison Park to face the high-flying Everton next Saturday.
