Fabrizio Romano: Man Utd's top transfer secret revealed.



Manchester United signed FC Porto Left-Back at a cheap price worth £15.4m.


According to popular transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano who claims that Manchester United's secret transfer which did not take place during the transfer window.


When the market was still open, Man United was linked with three main players who are good at left-back: Ben Chilwell, Sergio Reguilon, and Alex Telles.

The Premier League giant has already lost Chilwell and Reguilon to London clubs Chelsea and Tottenham respectively when they initiated a transfer talk with Telles. 


The FC Porto defender was going to be a free agent next summer - therefore Manchester United did not match his club's asking price.



Reportedly, there are still some other side fees like agent fees and a payment to Telles's former club Galatasary which resulted in the Portuguese club Porto demanding a higher amount than what the Red expected.


The deal for the Brazilian player was not confirmed until the eleventh hour of the deadline after a series of negotiations. Reports also claim that Man Utd could opt-out of the deal.

The 20 times Premier League champions had a backup option on their mind should in case they fail to reach an agreement with FC Porto. 


Fabrizio Romano claimed it was Chelsea's, Emerson Palmieri. After the Blues signed Chilwell, Emerson became a third-choice left-back and the London club wanted to sell him off.



Man Utd has dealt with Chelsea before during the Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic signing and this deal could have taken place smoothly.


Luckily for the Red, FC Porto reached an agreement for Telles and the Reds buy him for a cheap amount worth £15.4m.
