The Brazilian international is yet to make his first Premier League appearance for the England giant.
During his debut for the Red, the Brazilian international put-in an excellent display on his full debut during Manchester United's impressive 2-1 victory in the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League group stage opening match last week.
The 27-year-old Manchester United left-back was expected to have very well to maintain his place against Chelsea last Sunday but Telles was surprisingly omitted from the club squad with the England international Luke Shaw handed a starting opportunity during the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
He was also not among the rest of the Manchester United team that welcomed RB Leipzig on Wednesday night in a Champions League clash.
However, Man United coach Solskjaer has revealed that the player has in fact tested positive for COVID-19 and although he has no symptoms.
The full-back will still need to be in isolation for some time to prevent the spread of the virus.
Speaking after the win over RB Leipzig, Solskjaer told Man Utd official website:
'Telles has been out now for a little while. He is positive for the coronavirus. But he has no symptoms of the virus;
He is fine and we can not wait to see him back.'
Manchester United took control of Group H after winning Leipzig - who currently occupied the top of the Bundesliga table.
However, the Old Trafford club seat on the 15th position in the Premier League table after colling just 7 points from their opening 5 matches so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will like to get back to winning ways domestically with victory over Arsenal this weekend.
