Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is expected to look for the best alternative for Sancho before the end of the transfer market in October.
But other options are been put in place and Costa is among the potential replacement for the player.
The Brazil international has been with the Serie A club for three years but has struggled for consistency in the starting XI.
And according to DI Marzio, Juventus are open to let the 29-year-old leave the club, and his agents have already made some contact with Man Utd about a possible deal that will move Costa to Old Trafford.
' the Italian club Juventus want him to leave the club. his agents are working on finding a solution, they have contacted Manchester United, to know if they will be interested in the player,' Di Marzio to Sky Sports.
'Man utd have to think about it, but the problem with Costa is that he is an injury stock, so this is a big problem for a club that wants to buy him.

'his agents have already talked with Reds, for sure, and have proposed his transfer for his client.'
however, Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that the club needs to be "smart and clever" in this transfer market and buy good players.
But Solskjaer has called for good thinking and certainty before buying any player.
'it is going to be a strange summer for us,' Man Utd coach said. ' we only have a couple of weeks away from each other before we kick start a new campaign. that's going to be mentally challenging.
'Of course, we are going to keep making efforts and keep demanding more of the players we have but we are still looking for further improvement.
'it is a strange one. the league is going to start very quickly but the market is open for so long. We need to be more smart and clever in our decisions.
' I cannot say when or if the transfer is going to be done. we will need to keep on watching and we have to sit down.'
'it is a fast turnaround and we have to be 100% sure when we make those deals.,
