According to rumors, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has turned down the opportunity to buy Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. The France international's current contract at Old Trafford expires in 12 months. Even if that is the case, a relocation to the Bernabeu will not be made.

Pogba has been linked with Real Madrid for a long time.

The midfielder expressed his desire to move to Spain during the summer transfer window of 2019, frequently praising the La Liga heavyweights.

United, on the other hand, dug in their heels and were able to keep hold of the 28-year-old, who has been hot and cold under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the interim.

Now that Pogba's contract is coming to an end, Defensa Central reports that the midfielder has asked his agent, Mino Raiola, to try to get him a move to Spain.

Despite the fact that Zinedine Zidane is no longer in control, the Spanish team appears to be a compelling option.

However, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is said to have turned down the opportunity to sign Pogba, preferring instead to focus on signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

Real believe Pogba is no longer the player he once was, and that he is not entirely focused on football things.

And it remains to be seen what United will do with the World Cup champion now.

PSG are interested in signing Pogba, but with Mbappe's new deal taking precedence, a move to the Parc des Princes is unlikely.

Barcelona has also been connected with the youngster, although a move to the Nou Camp seems unlikely due to the impact of the coronavirus crisis on the club's finances.

And Juventus is in a similar situation.

After suffering heartbreak for France at Euro 2020, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted Pogba was totally focused on the new season.

“There's always talk about Paul and clubs interested in him, and we've seen Paul at his best,” the Norwegian remarked.

“Paul understands how we feel about it, and I've liked working with him, and I hope we can continue to collaborate.

“I'm not in the details of every single one of the negotiations between the club and Paul's representation. I'm not going to say anything about it. Let's see how things go.

“Talks between Paul's representation and the club's representatives are underway. Paul has shown his excitement for the season in every conversation I've had with him.”

Teddy Sheringham, a former United player, recently spoke out on Pogba, stating that he believes he should be moved since he "isn't a top player."

“Isn't this a funny situation? “I told The United Stand,” he said.

“He has a year left and could go on a free trip and make himself a fortune – as if they don't already make enough money.

“I believe if United or Ole got the impression that's what he was trying to do, he'd want to sell him immediately for as much as he could.

“Whether that's the proper or wrong thing to do. He's played in midfield at times and been left out at

If United loses Pogba, they may pursue a number of midfielders.

Although Barcelona and Liverpool appear to be the frontrunners in the race to recruit Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez, he is admired.

Wolves are also interested in Ruben Neves, who they want to sell.

Declan Rice has been heavily pursued, but Chelsea appears to be in the lead to capture the West Ham star.

Even though United are in the running to sign Eduardo Camavinga, they are hesitant because they believe he would prefer to join PSG or Real Madrid.
