Manchester United are apparently keeping an eye on Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella, who has been in excellent form for his country.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear that he wants to buy a midfielder, and the 24-year-versatility old's will be useful.
DON'T MISS:
United was said to be interested in Eduardo Camavinga of Rennes and Declan Rice of West Ham United, as well as Harry Winks of Tottenham Hotspur.
The focus at Old Trafford was undoubtedly on signing Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, but a midfielder is thought to be next on the list
The midfielder brought in will reportedly be determined by the amount of transfer money available and whether or not any players have successfully moved on.
According to FC Inter News, Barella is on the verge of leaving Serie A due to Premier League clubs' interest in his Euro 2016 performances.
Liverpool is rumored to be willing to give €70 million, while Manchester United is still debating whether or not to pursue him.
DON'T MISS:
Barella was last reported on by The Peoples Person in 2019 when he was still at Cagliari and the Red Devils reportedly made a take-it-or-leave-it £30 million deal.
This claim from FC Inter News smells like an attempt by the Italian media to create a bidding war for the player rather than genuine interest on Solskjaer's part.
Serie A clubs are clearly losing money, so it's understandable that they'd try to create a frenzy whenever possible.
Even though English teams are undoubtedly the best suited to deal with the global health issue, they would balk at a €70 million transfer cost.
Nonetheless, it would be surprising if Manchester United were seriously considering Barella, given Camavinga is a considerably more viable choice.
