He prepares a surprise swoop for Manchester United defender

Carlo Ancelotti, who took over Real Madrid for the second time following Zinedine Zidane's resignation, has asked for his first signing.

Although the Whites are focused on the task at hand- persuading Raphael Varane to stay and recruit Kylian Mbappe- there has been some discussion between the management and Florentino Perez about maybe signing a Manchester United kid.

DON'T MISS:

According to Rudy Galetti of Calciomercato, Los Blancos have expressed interest in Diogo Dalot.

Dalot spent the previous season on loan with AC Milan, where he performed admirably and was rewarded by Fernando Santos, who called him up to the Portuguese national team as a replacement for Joao Cancelo, who tested positive for the coronavirus before the start of the European Championships in 2020.

Milan is considering extending his loan once more, but Real Madrid has stepped in.

Perez has apparently been urged by Ancelotti to approach the full-back, who Real Madrid could acquire on loan for the first year before being obligated to buy him.

DON'T MISS:

The Rossoneri, who are also in the running to loan him out for a second time, are delaying a purchase commitment, giving Madrid the upper hand in the race as Manchester United looks to offload him.

Despite Ancelotti's personal request to the board of directors, Dalot's arrival at Real Madrid is exceedingly doubtful. The 22-year-old is not an ideal right-back for the La Liga giants to pursue, especially given their current options in the position. When healthy, Dani Carvajal is a vital member of the squad, while Alvaro Odriozola also contributes when called upon.

Finally, Lucas Vazquez can play in the defensive position as well, as can the highly versatile Nacho. Only time will tell if Real Madrid will even make contact with Dalot or Manchester United- but logically, everything is against it.
