According to ESPN, Eric Bailly is the one who is concerned. According to reports, the Manchester United player is apprehensive about having to deal with severely limited first-team appearances in the coming season.
So much so that the Ivorian is planning to ‘seek clarification' on his future after hearing that Varane is almost guaranteed to join Manchester United.
According to ESPN, United has agreed to pay a basic fee of £34 million to sign Varane, which is an absolute steal. The six central defenders who are already at the club will get less minutes as a result.
Axel Tuanzebe appears to be one of the victims, though Bailly appears to be concerned about this as well.
What I'll say is that Bailly hasn't done himself any favors. He's perpetually injured, which isn't entirely his fault. His performances, on the other hand, have been wildly inconsistent. That's something he can control, and I'd argue he doesn't deserve to be starting week after week right now.
In the 2020/21 season, United's defense was their weak spot. Solskjaer had made it clear that he wanted to improve in that part of the field. Let's not forget that Bailly was the one who recently agreed to a new contract with the club. He was not compelled to do so.
Simply go out there and earn your minutes on the practice field, and those opportunities will present themselves. That is all there is to it.
