Angry PSG fans hang banners in protest at possible Paul Pogba signing from Man United

Paris Saint-Germain fans have made it clear that Paul Pogba will not be welcomed at their club, despite reports that the Manchester United midfielder is on his way there.

To protest his prospective signing, some fans have placed banners outside the Parc des Princes and PSG's training complex.

'Pogba, you should listen to your mother,' read the banners, which arrived on Saturday morning. We don't want you here, and she doesn't want you here.'

According to RMC Sport, no one has claimed responsibility for the protest banners as of yet.

It's unclear what has sparked PSG fans' hatred for Pogba, though the midfielder didn't hold back in his celebrations after United won their Champions League last-16 clash in 2019.

Pogba was suspended for the second leg at Parc des Princes, and he watched United's thrilling late win from the stands before running down to the pitch to celebrate with his teammates.

Pogba has been linked with a move to PSG as he enters the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, however, there is yet to be any formal communication between the two teams, much alone any offer.

PSG is expected to make a move for Pogba in the coming weeks, according to United.

United fear losing Pogba, who cost them a world record £89 million in 2016, for nothing when his contract ends next summer.

Because negotiations for a new contract have stalled, they may be tempted to sell him this summer, with a price tag of £43 million being floated.

Pogba comes from Lagny-Sur-Marne, which is only 22 miles from the center of Paris, so returning to the region would be appealing.

Pogba shined for France at Euro 2020 and is presently on a family vacation in Florida before returning to United for pre-season training.

Last month, when asked about the situation, he stated, 'I have one year left on my contract, everyone knows that.' There have been no clear extension ideas. 'I'm still in Manchester,' I say.

The Mirror also reported earlier this week that Pogba had rejected down a long-term contract offer from Manchester United worth £50 million.

However, if he joins PSG, he will join a club that has already signed five players this summer, including Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Danilo Pereira.

United purchased Donny van de Beek from Ajax for £40 million last summer as insurance in case Pogba departed, and probable alternatives for the Frenchman this summer include West Ham's Declan Rice, Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez, and Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
