The idea that Manchester United will not sign Jadon Sancho in the summer appears absurd at this point.

All parties are eager to reach an agreement before England's match against Croatia on Sunday. Those with at least a year's memory will recall that identical stories about the deal were reported through the majority of last summer.

DON'T MISS:

Even though Borussia Dortmund could have gotten a better offer a year ago, an £85 million transaction appears to be a decent value for all parties concerned.

Sancho's representatives are pleased with the conditions reached; the winger will be paid generously, reportedly in excess of £290.000, and will be among the top earners in the Premier League.

It's easy to imagine a world in which Sancho stayed at City and is already forming chemistry with Phil Foden ahead of Euro 2020.

Manchester United appeared to be looking elsewhere for winger recruitment last summer, with Burnley starlet Dwight McNeil a possible target.

DON'T MISS:

The skilled winger was considered as a more cost-effective option, with a valuation of roughly £50 million. McNeil is a Manchester United supporter who left the club in 2014 to pursue his career in Lancashire.

g that period, he established himself as one of England's best talents, even if he has yet to play for the senior team.

The completion of the Sancho deal, despite the fact that it still has the potential to make us all look foolish, would appear to put an end to any possibility of McNeil joining Manchester United for the time being.

Aston Villa, on the other hand, may organize a summer bid in order to strengthen and progress next season.
