Mark Goldbridge, the presenter of The United Stand, has provided Manchester United fans with a positive update on the rumoured signing of Jadon Sancho this summer.
Sancho, who is valued at £90 million by Transfermarkt, has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, a rumour that persisted last summer – but ultimately did not come to fruition.
With Chelsea reportedly interested in the ex-Manchester City prodigy, Goldbridge is confident that United will outbid their rivals for his signature.
Goldbridge stated on the United Stand YouTube channel:
“I think something is going to happen in the next few days – what that something will be, I'm not sure.
“However, there are reports that Manchester United could face a battle with Chelsea for Jadon Sancho, and I want to quickly put this to rest by saying that I have heard nothing that Chelsea is interested in Jadon Sancho.
I know there are stories, but you know what, as much as I won't believe it until Sancho holds up the shirt, I don't believe he'll be holding a Chelsea shirt or a Liverpool shirt. I believe he will play for Manchester United.”

Sancho has been a revelation since joining Borussia Dortmund as a young prodigy in 2017, scoring 114 goals in 137 appearances (via Transfermarkt).
Given the amount of speculation surrounding his future over the last year, it appears that he will leave this summer. If he joins Manchester United, his goals and creativity in Germany could help the Red Devils close the gap on city rivals Manchester City.
He could also bring a winning mentality to Manchester, where United have yet to win a trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite Sancho's success in Germany, where he won the German Cup and the German Super Cup.
