Daniel James appears to be closing in on a move away from Old Trafford, according to reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told him he can leave Manchester United this summer.

The Wales winger joined Manchester United two summers ago, just months after a move to Leeds United fell through at the last minute.

DON'T MISS:

During his time with the Red Devils, he showed flashes of his talent. However, under Solskjaer, he was never considered a regular.

Indeed, James had been in and out of the team this season. He has only made 11 Premier League starts and five more in the Europa League. He has responded with five goals and two assists in 35 total appearances.

The growing presence of Mason Greenwood, on the other hand, appears to have persuaded Solskjaer to cash in on James.

The manager of Manchester United is also considering bringing in a new winger this summer. Jadon Sancho has been linked with the club for some time. To that end, a report published on Sunday claimed that his price had dropped to its lowest point ever.

DON'T MISS:

Meanwhile, reports on Saturday claimed that the club had launched a massive bid to sign a talented Bayern Munich player.

In any case, James' time at Old Trafford appears to be coming to an end. As a result, the Daily Express claims that his name has been circled by potential buyers.

And, if reports are to be believed, James will not be on the market for long. Indeed, the Manchester Gazette reports that Leicester City has made an approach for James.

The Foxes are also looking for a new winger, and James could fit the bill. While no price has been disclosed, United are believed to be seeking at least £20 million for James.

That would be a small profit on the £15 million they paid Swansea in the summer of 2019.

James could make his final appearance for United in the Europa League final against Villarreal on Wednesday. United's No. 21 is expected to start on the bench in Gdansk.

The Foxes will almost certainly have room in their squad for a new winger.

This comes amid reports that Rodgers will decide against making Cengiz Under's loan from Roma permanent.

Last summer, the Foxes loaned Turkey forward to Roma for a season. He has, however, struggled to make the expected impact, having only started once in the Premier League this season. He has made 19 appearances for Leicester, scoring twice and assisting three times.

While Leicester has the option of converting his loan into a permanent deal, they are set to forego that opportunity and send him back to Italy.

That is reflected in the fact that Under has not appeared in a Premier League game for Leicester since late February.

However, he may soon be able to return to the Premier League. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Under has no future at Roma and will be allowed to leave for a fee of £17.2 million – a figure that appears to have piqued Arsenal's interest.
