Bruno Fernandes scored another goal for Manchester United in yesterday's 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

The Portugal international converted a penalty for Manchester United, bringing his season total to 27 goals in all competitions.

DON"T MISS:

In doing so, Fernandes equalled Chelsea icon Frank Lampard's incredible feat, being the first midfielder to score as many goals in a single season since Lampard did so for the Blues in 2009/10...

Yaya Toure came close with 24 goals in all competitions for Manchester City in 2013/14, but Fernandes' success in a United side that is also very much a work in progress is truly exceptional.

DON"T MISS:

Lampard and Toure also featured in formidable title-winning sides during the seasons in which they amassed their incredible hauls, but one can only guess how much more Fernandes could score if he was surrounded by better talent.

The 26-year-old is just in his first full season in the Premier League, as opposed to those two, who were both well-proven and seasoned at this stage.

Fernandes was a fantastic signing for the Red Devils!
