Man United urged to sign PSG man to ‘propel them’ to title

Man United urged to sign PSG man to ‘propel them’ to title

According to Joleon Lescott, Manchester United could recruit PSG defender Marquinhos to guarantee that they remain, championship challengers, next season.

Marquinhos has been with PSG since 2013 when he entered from Roma. He moved for about €31 million.

DON"T MISS:

Since joining the club, the defender has made over 200 appearances in Ligue 1.

In recent months, he has been linked with a return to Chelsea to reunite with his former manager, Thomas Tuchel.

Marquinhos' deal would not end until 2024, but it would require a sizable fee for PSG to be persuaded to allow him to depart for Manchester United, Chelsea, or someone else.

Lescott made an appearance on Sky Sports ahead of United's match against Villa on Sunday. According to the Daily Star, he urged the Red Devils to make an offer for the defender:

DON"T MISS:

“That is the most important thing to me. Yes, Harry Kane will help them, but I believe it is more necessary to sign a centre-half.

“I was chatting with Rio [Ferdinand] lately, and we were about Marquinhos.

“I believe that if they were to acquire him, anyone of his calibre, they would immediately become contenders.

“If they don't do so, they can score goals and win games, but they can't count on their defence against the league's bigger teams.”

Meanwhile, Ashley Young has stated that he does not "understand" Manchester United's decision to sell Romelu Lukaku:

“As I mentioned at the time, I couldn't grasp the decision (to sell Lukaku).” “Whether it was rushed or not, Romelu has proven several people wrong.

“He has worked very hard. There was speculation of him being overweight and unable to do some things. He's broken records and made headlines in Italy, and he's been incredible with the team.

“Even in the Premier League, he was perfect for me. I believe it was the best decision for him to go out there and tackle that test. He merits all of the praise he is receiving.”
