Edinson Cavani has joined a select group of Manchester United players that includes Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Teddy Sheringham.
Cavani has gone from strength to strength for United since joining on a free transfer from PSG in the summer, quickly dispelling doubts about his ability to still play at the highest level with his outstanding performances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
While it quickly became clear that Cavani's world-class ability to score a plethora of goals was far from over, the Uruguayan star's beautifully weighted chip to score against Fulham on Tuesday was simply exquisite, unquestionably a goal of the season contender.
Cavani received a standing ovation from the 10,000 fans in Old Trafford, which was fitting for such an outstanding performance.
It was just a shame that more supporters were denied the opportunity to see the 34-year-old make his debut in front of the United faithful in such style.
Cavani's strike was his 10th Premier League goal of the season, putting him in an exclusive club at United; only two other players over the age of 33 in the club's history have reached that impressive haul in the league.
Those two players are Teddy Sheringham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who aren't bad company to keep, but Cavani reached another milestone with his goal against Fulham, following in the footsteps of another Uruguayan striker who has played for United.
Cavani's goal against Fulham also tied the record for most goals scored by an Uruguayan for United, which was set by fellow countryman Diego Forlan, who played for the Reds under Sir Alex Ferguson from 2002 to 2004.
