Perez lands a blow for Man United by sealing the deal for world-class 28-year-old star

Perez lands a blow for Man United by sealing the deal for world-class 28-year-old star

Manchester United has failed to sign yet another Bundesliga defender, this time David Alaba.

According to Sky Sports, the Austrian sensation will sign five-year contract with Real Madrid and join the club in the autumn.

The contract will be signed in the coming weeks.

The player announced in February that he will be leaving Bayern at the end of this season, ending an illustrious 13-year career with the club.
Alaba, who is 28 years old, has been member of several trophy-winning Die Roten squads.

The German champions were eager to retain the player and even gave him lucrative £13 million-a-year contract.
However, it was dismissed, and both parties reached an agreement in November of last year.

DON'T MISS:

With his contract expiring, Alaba's availability as free agent piqued the interest of host of suitors, including United.
After all, player of his caliber would not hit the Bosman market every day.

Furthermore, his flexibility and skill on the dead ball brought depth to player who has repeatedly proved himself at the highest level.

This is not the first time the Red Devils have failed to sign defender from Germany's top flight.
In reality, our search of Dayot Upamecano was thwarted when Bayern Munich signed him earlier this season.

However, Alaba's departure to Real Madrid could pave the way for us to sign Raphael Varane.
The Frenchman is about to hit the final year of his deal and may be released.

Real president Florentino Perez has already stated that the player has the option to leave if he is dissatisfied.

It is imperative that United address their weakness at the back by bringing in a top-class defender to partner Harry Maguire. We cannot afford to miss this opportunity at the end of the season.
