Manchester United has selected their squad for this afternoon's match against Leeds.
It will be our first trip to Elland Road for a league game in nearly two decades.
The last time we did it, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was already on the field, and the manager mentioned the crucial league game in the build-up.
DON'T MISS:
“I can't believe it's been so long,” he told Man Utd.com.
“I recall those games fondly, as well as the competition.
They were a top team, they pushed us, and it was games where the crowds were against you.
Okay, eighteen years.
Of course, any goal you score for this club is incredible.
DON'T MISS:
They were big games with big stakes, and I think I scored two goals in a 4-3 victory.
I got one here at Old Trafford as well...
I managed to get a handful.
The thing is, I don't look back too much, so I'm not sure I recall it being 18 years ago.
I still look forward to things, and of course, this game has been something to look forward to in the middle of everything else we've talked about this week.”
Marcus hasn't practiced yet, so I'm hoping he'll follow us.
Aside from that, all – except Anthony, who is still injured – has had a couple of days of rest and a week of planning and exercise.
You'll need it against these.
They push you to the limit, both physically and emotionally.
They have a distinct playing style, and it's a game we're looking forward to.
Eric has returned to training this week.
It's been a great week.”
“We had a strategy meeting with the players on Friday, and they asked when we felt we had a spare midweek.
Of note, we had a winter break [in 2020] and went to Marbella, and we had Project Restart in the summer, but our last midweek without a game before that was in August 2019, so it's been relentless.”
