Paul Scholes sends Man United message to Dean Henderson

Paul Scholes believes Dean Henderson has been "snatched" by David De Gea as the new manager of Manchester United.

Henderson wrote for De Gea in a recent game for the Red Devils while the Spaniard was taking a break for the holidays.

DONT MISS:

The 24-year-old has kept a clean sheet in five of his last six appearances for the Red Devils and has enjoyed a record when De De Gea is absent.

Now it remains to be seen whether Henderson will continue to score for the Red Devils or if De Gea will return as a starter by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, former Manchester United midfielder Scholes believes Henderson should be allowed to prove himself further in the next few games to make his mark.

Leicester's transfer in Rodgers

Asked who was responsible for Manchester United's number, Scholes told BT Sport: "I think now Henderson, I think he has been taken away.

"I think David was lucky after the Everton game to hold his place. I think there are a few mistakes where he can improve.

DONT MISS:

“There are some things before it, and here are some things. Didn't see the obvious error but I just heard a little more with Henderson there, it seemed a bit relaxed.

"I do not want to go David. He has been the 'professional' keeper for United, he has been brilliant and it remains to be seen if Dean does not lead his way.

"I just thought about the opportunity to give him a chance to play in the team and see what he does.

"He was sent to the English team, I think he would have been the number one for the English team if he kept this form.

"He made a mistake in the first game, we know that, but he took the right attitude to come back and he was better tonight [against AC Milan].

"I think he [Zlatan Ibrahimovic] needs to score and I think he has to keep himself, heavy enough.

"He went over the goal but he was in Dean's place and he had to pick him up and he saved him."

Manchester United is preparing for their FA Cup quarter-final clash with Leicester City away from home on Sunday afternoon.

Then, the Red Devils will shift their focus back to Premier League events and their home game against Brighton after an international break.
