Ole Gunnar rang some changes in the starting lineup to the side that played 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday night.
Manchester United welcomed West Ham United at Old Trafford in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday. That was the thirteenth time that United and the Hammers were drawn against each other in England’s oldest domestic trophy.
Ole Gunnar rang some changes in the starting lineup to the side that played 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday night.
The starting lineups were as follows.
Manchester United: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles; Matic, Fred; Greenwood, Van de Beek, Rashford; Martial
West Ham United: Fabianski; Coufal, Dawson, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice, Noble; Soucek, Fornals, Bowen; Yarmolenko
In the first half, both teams had chances to break through but both goalkeepers were on the task to ensure that their team remains in-game all through.
After another Ole Gunnar throwing in the likes of Tominay, Bruno Fernandes in the second half, none was able to bring the game in their favor as 90 minutes ended without any team finding the breakthrough.
In the extra half, there was a moment of magic as McTominay's strike proved to be decisive to make the difference on that night.
The Scotland international made a run into the box and ruthlessly finished the first time from a Marcus Rashford lay-off, putting the Red Devils into the quarter-finals of the competition.
