WHY IS ERIC BAILLY SO POPULAR IN THE DRESSING ROOM?

WHY IS ERIC BAILLY SO POPULAR IN THE DRESSING ROOM?

Manchester United center-back Eric Bailly is one of the most popular players in the Dressing room.

When Manchester United defender Eric Bailly plunged to the deck to make a dramatic block from Keinan Davis in the dying minutes of the match against Aston Villa,

it prompted several of his fellow Red Devils teammate to embrace him when the match ended.

A cursory glance at his colleague's social-media handle would also bear witness to this testimony in which the Ivory Coast international is held.

The Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes declared his pal Man of the match against Wolves recently and everybody seems to be happy with the way the Ivorian international is playing after his recovery from injury.

As we caught up with African player Eric for one of the longest interviews in English, the French-speaking Manchester United center-back soon displayed the qualities that adhere him to others.

He was a very humble player and very quick to deflect any praise or attention on his own performances, instead, he shares the importance of teamwork in a piece for Saturday's Man United Review, the official matchday for the Emirates FA Cup against Watford.

So, while it is very easy to know why the Ivorian is popular in the dressing room, we decided to ask his manager the same question as well, ahead of Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Man City at Old Trafford.

WHY IS ERIC BAILLY SO POPULAR IN THE DRESSING ROOM?

'Eric Bailly can speak many languages so he is the one that connects people,' said the boss in the pre-match chat with Man United TV's Stewart Gardner.

'We knew that Eric Bailly has had many hard times at Man United going through a lot of injuries, and tough spells, but he always gives his best to the club.

'He gives 100 percent for his team-mates. He's one of those kinds of players that you want in your team, you want in your side if there is a battle going on. He is just a very likable player and person.

'You see the unity and harmony in the group. I believe this is going to be of great importance in this current season, with the match fixtures congestion and the schedule, that Man United players know they have the opportunity and possibility to contribute - and they will in one way or the other participants throughout the season.
